• Welcome to the module that has been prepared to help students improve their knowledge and understanding of the developments in the use of information and communications technology (eHealth) within the English National Health Service (NHS).  The preparation contained within the module will ensure that as registered practitioners those completing the module will be better able to ensure safety in the information management practice for their patients/clients/service users.

This module has been designed specifically for healthcare students and involves no special computer skills other than those used to get to this point. The module is entirely on-line, there are no classroom sessions associated with this module.

The module contains six sections released over time, the student will be informed of when a new section has been released for their use. Each section contains tutorial guidance, a targeted content learning set called 'assets', and multiple choice questions. In each section there is opportunity for the student to determine the depth of their own knowledge through 'self-tests' as well as a final test for which the student needs to attain 80% correct responses or above to pass; each student can have up to 3 attempts at the final (summative) test in any particular section. Once the student has achieved a pass for the section, they should print out a section pass sheet and add this to their portfolio.
